Thanks Ron and Serge.
This one is for a beginner guitar player.
I hope it turns out OK

The guitar looks really nice...I really like the look of the Camatillo...

One stylistic point...I cant tell from the pictures if the diamonds on the fingerboard have straight sides or are radiused...I would look cool to repeat the motif of the end of your fingerboard and top of your headstock by having the fingerboard diamonds have a matching radius in on the sides to compliment the overall design.

Shawn
interesting idea.
They are slotted diamonds. Are you saying to curve each of the 4 edges.

yes...if you are using a consistent curve as a stylistic element for the top of the head and the same curve for the end of the fingerboard, then it could look cool if the diamonds also had the same cooresponding section of that curve.

One of the reasons why a Martin looks so balanced is that the squareness of the head and the cooresponding square end of the fingerboard make the style look consistent.

It is a minor point but I really like the way that the head and end of the fingerboard compliment each other. There are so few places on a guitar to establish a signature look through a stylistic element, that when you find one that works, repeat it... just my 2 cents.

Having said that, I only build classicals that all tend to look the same so with a classical builder the only parts that show the maker is the shape of the head and the rosette.

Wow - that is one great looking guitar. How the heck do you inlay that dog in the headstock? Did you do that by hand or have it done?

Wow, a beginner, huh? Well, at least his guitar won't slow him down. Wish I'd had one of yours when I started!
I like Shawn's idea a lot, and think that you could easily sand a radius into your diamonds to match the head. Good idea.

That is another gorgeous instrument from the Lazy Dog shop...errr... you know what I mean!

That is some really killer looking zoot. I really dig sap wood. The headstock inlay is very cool too...

Top drawer!
